Some very big news for Faith Haven House!!
Thank you all for your continued support. Now we are moving on to finding an open building to be the perfect location for Faith Haven House!!
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
We have been busy over the last month with multiple calls for help. Several have been for women, so we have directed them to other resources. We had one gentleman who we had helped before reach out, JD, and we were able to provide some food. Another gentleman had attended a local church one Sunday a few weeks before Labor Day, and we were able to provide food, water, socks, a sweatshirt, and a blanket. The next day he found a place to stay. Praise God!
The week after Labor Day we had an 18 year old male, CM, who needed help and had nothing with him except the clothes on his back. We were able to provide a hotel room for a week, and with the help of multiple individuals, we provided numerous clothes, a back-up, and food to get him by for a bit.
We want to keep in mind, and this is something the board and I remind ourselves of often, is that this is a marathon, and not a sprint. We would love to tell you we have a building, and that we are ready to help many more men with their need for shelter, and to share the love of Jesus with them. We are just not there yet. But, we are continuing to make progress toward this goal. We are continuously adding new supporters, whether or not that is monetary support, or individuals to help with the additional needs of clothing and food that arise during these times as well.
One thing that we will not do is give up on this journey. We know that “what God originates, he orchestrates” ‘Andy Stanley, Visioneering’, and we know He will never leave us. If you know someone who would be interested in helping in any way, we would love to talk to them. There are a number of ways you can help:
– Pray for Faith Haven House, the Board of Directors, and the men who are homeless or fighting to not become homeless – Run a fundraiser – Become a monthly donor – Donate once a year
Additionally, we are looking for new board members. Are you willing to join us to take Faith Haven House into the next step of this journey? I would be happy to discuss the expectations of what that entails. Please call me at 636-577-5876, or email at email@example.com.
Thank you to all of our supporters!! We appreciate you!!
